2012 Car Show General Participant Guidelines
Displays
*The standard display area for each vehicle entered is 10?x20? (except motorcycle which will be 10?x10?). Due to local Fire Marshall regulations, all vehicles entered in show must have no more than one quarter (1/4) of a tank of fuel. All batteries must be disconnected at the battery terminal unless equipped with a master electrical cutoff switch. Any "non-locking" gas caps must be taped off. Should a vehicle be found to NOT comply with these rules will be fined $100 immediately and either be asked to leave the show or comply with the local Fire Marshall rules.
* Flyers are not permitted to be passed out to fellow participants. Show displays or a sign representing a vendor that did work on your car is permissible. Vehicle ?For Sale? signs are NOT permitted to be displayed. On Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, entrants will be permitted in to the expo center one hour prior to show opening to the public in order to do final preparations to vehicle and/or display area.
*Any requests for a larger display area than the standard 10?x20? display area must be approved by the show promoter. There is space on the entry application for this purpose should you request a larger area. With your vehicle application, we request that you also send a photo of your display area of 20?x20? should it be custom built or not. There is limited availability of floor space for these requests.
*Vehicle displays are not a requirement by the show promoter, but a well done display area will only enhance the presentation of your vehicle. Show boards or a sign listing owner, builder, and other important details of your car are encouraged to be within your display area.
*Carpet for your display area is highly suggested. Carpeting for your display area is available to rent at an additional cost. Ropes and stanchions are also very highly suggested to protect your vehicle from spectators getting to close to your car and damaging it. Should you not have your own, these are also available to rent at an additional cost.
*Keep in mind that there are two ?Best Display? Awards. (One for individual and one for club cars.) Decorative items in your display area could qualify you for one of these awards.
Judging
*Each vehicle that is entered for competition will undergo scrutiny by our judges. Our highly experienced & seasoned judges are also former participants of the indoor car show circuit. Each class will be judged twice by our judges. This ensures that each car is judged equally and that consistency remains in the points system as each judge my score cars differently.
*Judging can be done at any point during the show and will be completed by Sunday morning. Most judging will take place after hours while the expo center is closed to the public. We ask that all participants do not discuss their entry with any judge at any time during the show. Doing so may result in a disqualification of the entry.
*Each entry will receive an entry ?card? that will list vehicle number, owner, and class. Please make sure these ?cards? are displayed at all times. We suggest that all vehicle trunks, doors, hood, etc. are left open so the judging teams can have full access to your vehicle. Judges will NOT open your vehicle for you. Should the judges not have access to every part of your vehicle, you could lose valuable points. Keep in mind that the judges will be using mirrors and flashlights to properly judge ALL vehicles.
*Judging for the Show Class will be done with ISCA standards. Judging for the Street and Motorcycle Classes will be done with a ?modified? ISCA judging criteria.
*The decisions of the judges are FINAL.
*Please remember, this is a car show!! While a serious competition for some, to others it is just an honor to have their car chosen to be a part of our event. Our judges have a very tough job ahead of them. While not everyone is always pleased with the outcome of the awards, do not think that someone else?s vehicle is ?better? than yours, it?s just that vehicle may have judged differently given the criteria of the formula used in this arena.
