Frank Patille CCI Motorsports - The Only Buick Roadmaster Pro Mod On The Planet

Frank Patille - The Only Buick Roadmaster Pro Mod On The Planet
2014 CCI Motorsports Announces Their Comeback Tour!

We are very excited to be able to announce a Comeback Tour, and look forward to seeing our friends and fans at the track. We cannot begin to tell you have grateful we are for all of the support, concern and expressions of friendship we have received over the past few years. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

In the last update we posted, Frank was well underway with intense therapy, working very hard to regain the strength, balance and coordination he once had, that was stripped of him after an acute episode with GBS/CIDP in early 2011. This was a frightening medical ordeal for Frank, who had been diagnosed with neuropathy a few years earlier.

The 2014 race schedule is already filling up quickly. We plan to do some pre-season testing in the warmer climates in early spring. Then, our intentions are to compete in the NEOPMA 2014 Race Circuit.

Marisa Magnatta from WMMRs Preston & Steve Show

Marisa Magnatta from WMMRs Preston & Steve Show Marisa Magnatta from WMMRs Preston & Steve Show

I started working mornings at MMR in 2003 (and by "working" I mean hanging around doing stuff for free). When The Preston and Steve Show joined the radio station, the boss suggested I "temporarily" help the show "transition", but after a couple months of refusing to leave everyone realized their lives could not go on without me because they loved me so much and I became the official 6th member of the show - and that's how I saved Christmas.

The personal rundown: I was born in Cherry Hill, grew up on the main line and now live in Manayunk. I love The Food Network, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob Dylan and the Foo Fighters. I also love Hoegaarden, Francis Ford Coppola, Pinot Grigio and Almond Joys. I sleep a lot, shop too much and drive way too fast. I thank my dad everyday for his Eagles season tickets, and will go to a Phillies or Flyers game any day! My birthday is August 21st and I love presents.

My biggest regret in life is not going on stage when Mike Love called me down the aisle at a Beach Boys concert; I was 10 but could have been the next Courtney Cox. I hate rude and crude people - so hold the door and cover your mouth when you cough, please. I wish that I could draw, play the guitar, be witty, had bigger boobs and could write a better bio.

Back By Popular Demand Pierre Robert and "Minerva"

Pierre Robert and Minerva Celebrity Pierre Robert and Minerva Celebrity

Pierre Robert (pronounced "row-BEAR") began his radio career at 94.9 KSAN-FM, one of the country's first progressive rock stations, in his hometown of San Francisco. When KSAN changed its format to an Urban Country & Western style in the early 1980s Robert assumed the on-air name "Will Robertson" for a brief period of time because he was morally opposed to the new format.

Not long after, Robert joined a friend destined for school and moved to Philadelphia in Robert's 1970 Volkswagen van (named Minerva). with bald tires. He sent 93.3 WMMR a demo tape but was initially turned down. Pierre took a job at Essene (a health food store and vegetarian restaurant) until a fateful day at a palm reader's table on South Street in Philadelphia, PA where he was told "you're gonna get a letter very soon". This letter was waiting for him at home and was from Joe Bonnadonna (then WMMR's station manager) indicating there was an opening. Robert joined WMMR in 1981.

Robert has had many positions at WMMR, which include mornings, overnights and middays. His current time slot is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. though his program frequently runs longer (an anomaly explained as "Pierre Standard Time.")

Features of his show include the "Coffee Break Music Marathon", "Pierre's Planner" and the Work Force Blocks where he plays 3 to 4 song blocks of a particular artist based on listener requests.

Robert also features the "Vinyl Cut", where he plays a track from one of the many vinyl records in the WMMR archive.

He is also known to play all 18 minutes and 20 seconds of Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant" multiple times during his annual Thanksgiving Day broadcast.

Robert has admitted that he does not follow Philadelphia sports. He typically refers to all Philadelphia sports teams as "The Boys in Blue" regardless of the actual team colors.

LOU VASGER 2013 Super Chevy Top Dragster Champion Celebrity

LOU VASGER 2013 Super Chevy Top Dragster Champion Celebrity LOU VASGER 2013 Super Chevy Top Dragster Champion Celebrity

Lou Vasger is an ASE Certified Master Auto Technician and Shop Manager of Hank & Son's Auto Service, located in Feasterville Pennsylvania. He brings his expertise and professionalism to the sport of drag racing and is highly respected for his extensive knowledge of high-performance modifications. Lou has 33 years of drag racing experience

Lou's professional experience includes working as the Chief Mechanic and Assistant Instructor at the highly acclaimed Frank Hawley's Drag Racing School in Gainesville Florida. Lou has been the focus of an article written in Muscle Mustang and Fast Fords Magazine. The article is based on his modifications to a street driven twin turbo Mach 1 Mustang to 1000 horsepower that is also still perfectly well behaved to drive everyday on the street.

His racing experience is also quite diversified. Lou has raced in many different race classifications, starting with a Pro class Chevy Nova (125 mph in 11 seconds) on a quarter mile track when he was 16 years old. He then progressed to a 1927 Ford Super Gas Street Roadster (150 mph in 9.5 seconds), then a Chevy Monza bodied Super Gas car (155 mph in 8 seconds), and finally his 1st dragster. The dragster was powered by a 572 cubic inch big block Chevy engine producing 850hp and running on alcohol. The engine combination, built by Lou himself, powered the dragster to a quarter mile time of 7.5 seconds at over 175 mph. Lou campaigned this Super Pro Dragster in weekly bracket racing. His "home" tracks are Atco Raceway, Atco New Jersey and Maple Grove Raceway, Reading Pennsylvania.

After many round wins and being a solid competitor at these tracks over the years netted a win in June of 2010 at Maple Groves Money Trail point race. Then he had a runner up finish at the Super Chevy race in July of 2010. All which resulted in a #4 finish in the overall Maple Grove point standing and a trip to the Bracket Finals in Delmar Delaware. There Lou helped the Maple Grove team win another team championship. Also "old reliable" started 2011 with a win at the Maple Grove Raceway 3k shootout in May.

In October 2012 he purchased a bare chassis and body. The new dragster is a Race Tech Swing Arm Monoshock . The entire car was then plumbed, wired and assembled in his home garage over that same winter. After assembly, the dragster got an amazing paint job by Bill Rizzo. The car was ready for testing at Atco in July of 2013. During testing he only made 2 full passes on the new car turning 7.53 & 7.54 both at 181 mph. Testing was a huge success. Competition came next at Maple Grove Raceway and Super Chevy was the first outing. After 3 days in 100 degree heat the new car had outlasted all competitors and won the Bracket 1 race.

As the season progressed, the dragster put out 1/4 mile times of 7.30 at 186 mph, dual carbureted, 572 cubic inch big block Chevy engine, built by Al Czerniak of Czerniak Racing Engines, makes close to 1000 horsepower with all throttle.

Now the Racetech is ready for anything as well as competing in the Top Dragster class. Bring on the 2014 season!

K.S. PITTMAN 1933 Willys AA/GS Coupe Tribute Car back on the track for 2014

K.S. PITTMAN 1933 Willys AA/GS Coupe Tribute Car Celebrity

Rocky Pirrone built this 1933 Willys AA/GS CelebrityAfter a slight racing mishap in 2013 the KS Car is back with a new look with the help of PPG Automotive Refinshers and Chris Ryan of Ryans Rods & Kustoms.

Rocky Pirrone built this 1933 Willys AA/GS coupe in honor and as a tribute to his good friend and NHRA Hall of Fame racer K.S. "Tiger" Pittman. The period correct recreation was built by his race car team Pirrone and Ellershaw race cars. They built the 33 "exactly" the way the original was built by K.S. in 1966 / 1967. The original was destroyed in a high speed accident in 1971. I'd like to thank Harry Hall (who owned the car from late 68 to 71) along with Chuck Finders who built the original chassis for their help in the re-creation.
